About The Artwork
The title is from the album by the German chanteuse Nico who died in 1988.The picture is an imaginary view of the keyboard of her Harmonium and is deliberately made to look dirty and off white to reflect her morbid gothic songs and her morose deadpan delivery The red lines on the white keys represent blood. This picture is now framed in a plain black deep frame that perfectly complements the image and makes a totally integrated whole..This motif also represents one of my pet obsessions the ubiquitous "bar code" that are everywhere these days. The picture was painted in portrait format but looks good in landscape and reflects the keyboard theme better I think. These new images show some of the frame and also the intricate work of the red lining on the white and brown stripes, NOT on the black.

This profle picture shows me at work in my studio, the work in progress is " Ink Mathmatics". As you can see my work is very varied in subject and style. The things that inspire me are words mostly from songs or poetry, a word a phrase. The pictures I hope speak for themselves, but I hope they have a narrative somehow and tell a story.I have been painting since childhood. For the past year I have worked exclusively in mixed media and my style and execution has evolved into a much more bold and individual realisation of my own artistic philosophy.
