Landscape photography is one of Jessica’s longest standing art series as she began creating these quietly beautiful images over 25 years ago. These images are often described as warm and peaceful portrayals of the desert and as capturing the uplifting splendor and calm of the wild western US. The inherent beauty of nature and the rejuvenating feeling of peace is something that this artist strives to convey. Building from her foundation of traditional arts; painting, drawing, sculpture; she found a natural transition to creating photographic composite images as a means of self-expression. Sources of inspiration can come from personal experiences as well as observations of the world around her. All the images used within each finished piece are captured by the artist and personally combined to communicate her vision. This series of images invites the viewer to answer for themselves the meaning of her photographic illustrations with the purpose to inspire, challenge and enrich the lives of those who view it. A native of South Florida, Jessica Lozoya started in photography while attending high school at Dreyfoos School of the Arts. She is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Photography Technology. After earning her degree, she worked as a studio manager in Stillwater, Oklahoma for several years. During this time she meet her husband Oscar at their district photographers convention and after dating long distance for a year she moved to New Mexico in 2000. Jessica personally controls each fine art image at every step. This includes the concept, location selection, exposure, digital artwork and the printing process. During the course of her career as a full-time professional photographer, she has refined her style of photographic art. All of her images are meticulously printed by the artist, employing a method she has developed to produce the print the qualities she desires. Finished images are printed on museum quality exhibition media, using archival ultrachrome inks for their vibrancy and permanence qualities. She will spend as much time as needed working to refine each image to her exacting standards. This labor-intensive process contributes to her signature style.
