Marianne Monto is an artist based in Finland, who believes good art is something that you can feel inside you. Her mission is trying to elevate positive feelings through her work. Hence many of her works are fantasy-like or draw from feelings and memories. Marianne gets her inspiration from nature, books and from people around her. She paints portraits of her children's imaginary friends, tries to depict how it feels to jump in puddles and moves the beautiful she sees in the world to canvas. She has had several years of art studies, from shorter courses to formal education. Years of practice has allowed her expression to grow in different mediums, although she prefers to work with more traditional techniques. Marianne focused some years on getting technical education after art studies. She believes art and engineering can co-exist and she uses her technical background in some of her works.
