Namaste Sculpture

Kristina was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and is currently based between Turin, Italy, and Miami, USA. She grew up in the countryside of Estonia and Kyiv, her hometown. Raised by old traditions with a close connection to earth, nature, spirit and art. She sees beauty where it might be unseen; she feels connection and unity with Earth and all the divine creatures upon it. She has a strong bond with her ancestors, her vision is not led by trends but fulfilled with serenity and love. Her art journey started when she was a child, precisely painting little details of all the little things, and so it continued until the dogma of modern education paused her desire to create. The restrictions of academic art felt like a tight box in which everyone had to fit in. Nevertheless, she received her bachelor degree in Ukraine but lost her passion, even though the desire to create never left her heart. From that moment on, Kristina’s journey in the big world began; she carried out a successful modeling career and traveled the world while working with amazing creatives like JW Anderson and Dior, while under the tender outlook of Raf Simons. Worked with magazines like Vogue, Rolling Stones, Harpers Bazaar and many others. It was a new way to express her creativity, where the composition of the piece consists of a living person instead of figures of imagination. After about ten years of working in fashion she started to look for her new self again, followed by other passions in her life. Kristina took the next couple years as a chance to reimburse, refresh, and re-feel herself. Like a snake that loses its skin, Kristina was getting rid of all the unnecessary stigmas and beliefs she invoked during her life experience. Her core evolved, her principles took on a new format, and her worldview was drastically changed. What used to be important became nothing; what used to be nothing became everything. During her magical pregnancy she rediscovered her creative self again within the medium of clay. It was a truly beautiful moment, and her belief in art was reborn again. This time, with no academics within it, pure intuition and a feel for the medium are leading her way. When mistakes become a gift of force, when accidents are felt like fate, when all control is released and a flow of nature gains its strength for its fearless expression, all created in the moment with an empty mind and open heart. One piece is done in two sessions. First, create the base of the vessel; second, carve it.
