About The Artwork

This second series of sculptures started in 2021 and completed in 2023 pays homage to the environment, climate change and mother nature's elements of nature - wind, water, earth, air and fire. Inspired by one of my illustrations, this one of a kind original decorative wall sculpture, made by hand from white raku clay. Inspired by the phoenix who is an immortal bird that cyclically regenerates or is otherwise born again. While it's part of Greek mythology, it has analogs in many cultures such as Egyptian and Persian. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by rising from the ashes of its predecessor. This sculpture was broken at a couple of points, and, inspired by the kintsugi repairing technique, in this instance glued back together with epoxy glue then spray painted in metallic rose gold and embellished with white paint on the smooth surface to bring the sculpture back to life and give the sculpture a more luxurious appearance. The break points of the sculpture are not visible to the naked eye. It is inspired by the belief in the beauty of imperfections and the rise of the phoenix. An organic evolution process takes place with each sculpture, each piece is unique, no two are the same. Displayed together as a series this will be stunning addition to any art exhibition, wall space, a unique conversation piece.

Born in Brisbane, Australia. A budding artist from a young age who went on to study a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Fine Art, since then I have been documenting life's experiences in visual diaries, keeping track of life's moments. Over time I developed a series of illustrations in a sketchbook these have been transformed into limited edition monochrome prints, a series of paintings and unique sculptures. Exhibiting internationally since 2015, with creative goals achieved in 2015 - 5 of my paintings were exhibited in a group exhibition at presented by Agora Gallery, New York City. In June 2022 12 paintings were exhibited in my first solo exhibition in Milan, Italy. Presented by Monteoliveto Gallery. Most recently I have created a series of ornate ceramic wall art sculptures themed around the elements of nature. Four of these sculptures were exhibited as photographs in a group collective exhibition in Milan, Italy.
