About The Artwork
“There and Back” is a wall sculpture that is created on 4 pieces of laser cut wood. Each piece of wood is mounted on custom clear acrylic cleats each piece having a different depth of a 1 inch difference which give the sculpture the look that it is coming out of the wall. On top of the wood hand painted and sculpted paper and clay are attached with nails and then have a top coat of high gloss resin. This bold, modern jet black fine art piece will bring the interest, conversation, color, texture and story into any space. It is stunning and mesmerizing. This 3D sculpture is created by Dallas based contemporary artist, Christi Meril. Christi is inspired by time spent outdoors in the Rocky Mountain, high desert and rocky coastlines. She is equally inspired by urban settings. City life full of gleaming skyscrapers, hustle of traffic, people and diversity influence her work 24/7. Christi loves working on both canvas and wood often adding paint, paper, nails, clay, resin and even custom neon lighting when she feels it adds that extra element to convey the message of the piece. “There and Back” is truly one of a kind and will bring interest to any space.
