Transformation Sculpture

Sculpture: Wood on Wood painted with acylic paint This piece was inspired by colorful wood slats that I taped together for a move from one art studio to another. The slats were painted with left over paint I had on my palette at the end of the day. The wood pieces were in an disorganized pile and to move them I taped them together and saw that it was a pleasing look. I then glued the pieces together at uneven increments and used an extra long drill bit to make a hole and insert a dowel for extra reinforcement. Interestingly, I was working on a large oil paining with stripes the same time I made this. That painting took 19 years for me to finish and it was the reason I named the series transformation.
