Aude Simon

Painter, designer of experiences, poet, author and photographer, Aude Simon combines art and technology to honour living plants and decompartmentalizing pictorial expression.

The seeds of my pictorial stories grow out of the ephemeral beauty of everyday life. Since the experience of lockdown, during which I found myself deprived of nature, I've been painting digital series about things we no longer see - nature in the city, roadsides, home sweet home, walks at plant height, the seasons in the garden, homemade bouquets... - to which I add a few words... I call them my haiku paintings.

A haiku painting consists of a printed digital painting and a very short poem that captures the emotion of the moment.

My series combines individual paintings that can be arranged in triptychs or diptychs of different formats to create scenographies adapted to the exhibition space. These "wholes are then more than the sum of their parts" and in turn become new seeds of stories...

I use two QR code seals to sign my digital paintings. The first seal provides access to the artwork's certificate and its metadata, and the second to the accompanying poem written in french, my native language.

Born in France in 1968, Aude Simon studied Fine Arts and Art History at the Sorbonne. She graduated in 1991. In the early 2000s, she embraced the technological revolution and spent over 20 years designing digital experiences.

After exploring the past as an art historian, journalist and editor of art books, and anticipating the future by designing innovative digital services for major companies within her own innovation design agency, she has returned to the present moment through pictorial, digital, plant-based, figurative and poetic artistic expression.

In May 2023, she had her first solo exhibition, "Renouveau", at the Médiathèque Le Passe-Muraille in the Nantes region, and has been congratulated and encouraged by the Luxembourg Art Prize for her first entries in 2022, 2023 and 2024.

She lives and works in Paris.

Elle a signé en mai dernier sa première exposition personnelle « Renouveau » au Passe-Muraille en région nantaise et a reçu les félicitations et les encouragements du Luxembourg Art Prize pour ses premières participations en 2022, 2023 et 2024.

L'année dernière, elle a exposé deux fois : une deuxième exposition solo « La vie en Rose » en France et à Londres, sa première exposition collective à The Other Art Fair.

Elle ouvre 2025 avec « Miracle au Manoir », sa nouvelle exposition personnelle au Manoir de Procé à Nantes.
