Djordje Djordjevic is full time artist more then 35 years. He was born in 1949 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia.
Statement:
My interest is in the state of the painting inside of which, despite the differences and opposites of particular dynamism and its articulation, there is a tendency towards calmness, neutrality or detachment from the personal, from control and from thorough reflection. I yearn for an existentially dynamic painting, one that strives for the self-transcendental. But it does so quietly.
The goal and ultimate outcome of a painting is the search for the path of unity as a common value, attained through the process of painting.
He studied fine art and took the degree at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, Italy. His education and professional experience is supplemented with frequent trips to Europe and contacts with some artists-colleagues (Hans Hartung, Emilio Vedova and many others). He is a member of the prestigious Association of Fine Artists of Serbia and has honored status of an independent artist with state benefits.
He has exhibited in significant galleries in Serbia and Belgrade, as well as abroad. His paintings are in the property of private collectors in Serbia, Croatia, Italy, France, Switzerland, Japan, as well as the National Museum in Belgrade, the Museum of Applied Art, Hotel Hyatt Regency. The last ten years he has lived in Belgrade, more focused on experiments and investigations within his artistic poetics, less on exhibitions.Despite this, he is opened to cooperation and projects with gallery owners, artists, designers, and architects concerning the realization of exhibitions, interiors and settings in the open space.
