Wales is a land rich with echoes and memories, and my artistic practice embodies a lifelong journey of retracing ancestral footsteps. Rooted firmly in the Clydach Gorge Valley and the rugged industrial heritage of Abergavenny, my work draws on six generations of my family’s connection to this remarkable landscape. I explore the profound relationship between human emotion, memory, and place through my art.
Using oil paint as my primary medium, I immerse myself in the dramatic and evocative landscapes that define my surroundings. My paintings, characterised by an intimate scale, reflect both the topography of the land and the intricacies of human experience. This approach allows me to powerfully convey the deep bond between people and the natural world.
Through my art, I capture moments that tell stories resonating throughout the land, highlighting my unwavering connection to this place. My work invites viewers to remember and actively engage with the true essence of a ‘Place’.
