Linda Coppens is an abstract painter whose work is driven by gesture, rhythm, and a deep, intuitive engagement with the surface. Her paintings explore the delicate balance between movement and restraint, where each mark is applied, interrupted, and left visible, revealing traces of the process itself.
While earlier works developed through layering and accumulation, her recent paintings reflect a more focused approach—shifting towards reduction and subtlety. These works embrace the tension between action and pause, allowing the image to remain open, unfinished, and unresolved. In these compositions, timing and restraint become as essential as the marks made, creating a space where energy is contained yet palpable.
Each work invites collectors to engage with the raw, unresolved beauty of the painting, offering a timeless piece that evolves with the viewer’s own perception.
Coppens’ work is held in private collections worldwide, and she continues to explore new possibilities in abstraction, pushing the boundaries of her creative process with each new piece.
