I sold my first painting in oils at 13 and it was something I always did. Life took me to Canberra in 1990 and a sole parent and carer. I began to paint items for markets and grew a small business of souvenir products.
A visit to Gallipoli had a profound effect and I subsequently won the inaugural Gallipoli Art Prize. I have been a finalist most years since and also many other major art prizes. I developed abilities in all mediums and subjects which led to becoming self employed. My business called 'Artists Shed' evolved into my own art school, art gallery and art store for art materials.
