Shaun Donovan

Shaun Donovan Fine Artist. I was born in Canada to an Irish Father and English Mother. My early years were in Northern Ontario. My Family moved to Ireland in the early 60s and I was brought up on my parents' Dairy Farm. This was quite a dramatic change of life from Canada in the 1960s to an Irish Farm very much of the 1800s. I believe my life experience was very unique learning to ride and drive horses as well as caring for, milking and driving cattle to market. Breeding and being a 'midwife' to a couple of Sows at two o'clock in the morning. I am Canadian, Irish and British. I live in the UK.

I studied Painting and Sculpture under Jack Donovan at the Limerick School of Art & Design. Jack recommended me for my painting and sculpture to Peter Johnson Principal at Mansfield College of Art. I was recognised as a Painter by Peter and Phil Muirden,(Artist & fine Art Tutor) who shared his personal studio with me until, I left College to begin work as a Graphic Designer employed by HF (Fred) Darking (unoffical) War Artist. Fred endorsed my Art Work in a letter of recommendation.
I am a Top Contributor Member of Irish Artists Group.
