ABOUT THE ARTWORK

SHIPPING AND RETURNS

Tis painting was done "En plein air" (outdoors) on the beach in Florida as a storm was coming. I tried to capture the dynamics of the storm and bright colours against the changing grey skies. One of my favourite painting experiences.

Art acquisition is a personal journey that allows the individual to express and reflect on the world at large. Whether you are buying art to create a thematic collection or just to surround yourself with art that speaks to you in a meaningful way, the end result will undoubtedly enrich and enlighten your life. I believe that each painting should tell a story with the elements and brush strokes. They should have several levels of meaning that the owner can discover over their years of studying it on the wall. It should become like a personal friend. I try to have my own style –– bright colorful, saturated, blobs of color. I've been making oil paintings for most of my life, starting as a teen as a way to make presents for friends, then as a respite from the pressures of my day to day life. Through the decades I've learned so much about painting and painters. My influences are the French impressionists –– Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Modigliani, Renoir, Degas. Also Hockney, Ed Hopper, Jasper Johns. I never thought of actually selling my paintings until the past few years, when people asked if they could buy them. Saatchi is a great place for me to make them available. My paintings are a combination of reality and fantasy from the things I see every day wherever I happen to be living. I've moved around a lot, living mostly in California, but also Colorado, New Mexico, Florida. Thanks for looking.
