Ziesook You

Ziesook You is a Korean-born visual artist based in Austin, Texas. Working across photography and video, she explores time, memory, and human presence through staged portraiture and long-term conceptual projects.

Her practice began with experimental video works, including intimate family video diaries using durational time-flow methods, documentary films examining spatial memory across international travel sites, and 10 Years Self-Portrait, a project reflecting on identity through time-compression techniques.

Since 2016, she has developed the ongoing series Scent of Broq-pa, which expresses happiness through the coexistence of humans and nature. The project portrays individuals from diverse backgrounds and continues to expand internationally.

You has exhibited in Korea, Australia, Iceland, Taiwan, Hungary, Japan, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She has held 16 solo exhibitions and has received international recognition through multiple photography awards.

She currently maintains her studio in Austin, where she continues to develop long-term series exploring time, space, nature, and life.
