Dmitry Wild was born in Moscow, Russia, and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1993 after the 1st overthrow of the government. Growing up in Queens, New York, he absorbed the city’s vibrant mix of cultures and rhythms — energies that would later find expression in both his music and his art. In 2008, while living in California, he began painting — a practice that emerged not from formal training but from an urgent need for release and transformation. What began during a period of family trauma became an act of spiritual cleansing and self-discovery. Working primarily with acrylics, Dmitry approaches painting as both ritual and performance. His canvases are large, often created outdoors, where the process becomes physical, unpredictable, and deeply intuitive. He dips long sticks or pencils into paint, letting the wind guide the flow, or hurls pigment in bold, violent gestures. The result is a visual symphony of color and motion — raw, expressive, and unfiltered. For Dmitry, painting is not a discipline of control but of surrender. It is an emotional outburst, a purification, and a translation of sound and feeling into form. The same instinct that drives his music drives his art — rhythm, chaos, freedom, and the electric pulse of life itself. He has exhibited in solo shows throughout upstate New York, participated in the Art Festival of Piermont, and his work has appeared in several films. Self-taught, Dmitry draws on his experience as a web designer, musician, and writer to shape his visual language — one that fuses digital sensibility with primal human expression. Currently, Dmitry lives and paints in Queens, New York, where he continues to explore the intersection of art, sound, and the wildness of being alive. — Dmitry Wild
