I am Oscar Sancho Nin, known artistically as Oscar Nin. I was born into a humble family in Spain, and from an early age I found in drawing both a refuge and a language of my own, which over time evolved into my full dedication to painting. My career gained momentum in 2013, when Saatchi Art began selling many of my works, and in 2014 I placed over 80 original pieces through galleries and independently. Although my style has changed over the years, I remain the same artist: someone in constant search of tension and contrast. I work with both color and darkness, often bringing them together within a single canvas, where light and shadow are not opposites but complementary forces that open spaces for emotion and mystery. My deepest interest lies in human psychology. I paint fragmented faces, transforming bodies, and scenes where the absurd coexists with the symbolic, because there I find a way to speak about the mind and its contradictions. I do not seek to illustrate reality, but to explore it as a broken mirror in which memories, voices, and dreams emerge. For me, painting is both a game and a challenge: I approach the canvas with the intensity of a child discovering and with the obsession of an adult determined to go further. In each brushstroke I seek for something to breathe, for something to stir, for a genuine connection to arise between the work and the viewer.
