Quiet Study Painting

I was born and raised in Bucharest, Romania and started drawing and painting at a very early age, as I possessed a natural artistic talent. After graduating from the High School of fine arts I received private tutorship from Valeriu Boborelu, dean at the Bucharest Fine Arts Institute, who has been in the United States since 1983 and is currently a renown artist and member/co-founder of RIVAA gallery in New York. In 1977 I defected from Romania and immigrated to the United States in 1978, where I have worked primarily as a design draftsman, which was the occupation closest related to art that I could most readily launch a career in, although much of my spare time was still devoted to artistic endeavors. Inevitably, I decided at one point to reaffirm my devotion and loyalty to my first true love, the Fine Arts, and began focusing all my energies in that direction. I have mostly had an intimate relationship with my works and have not attempted to display in art shows or galleries but have occasionally sold works directly to private collectors and performed some commissions. I endeavor to share my art with the world and help enrich and nourish people’s aesthetic, emotional and spiritual experience.
