Denise Forster

I enjoy creating expressionist abstract paintings. It is important to me to convey a feeling and/or idea through shapes and, especially, colors. I also really like illustrations and figurative. Minimalism often appears in my works.

I prefer to use acrylics, watercolors, ink, and watercolor pencils. I paint only on 300mg Canson, Arches, or Hahnemühle paper. I've painted on canvas before, but these days I live in a small space and don't have enough storage space.
I get inspiration from many things around me: nature and its colors, images from books, anything I see that is a different combination of colors, the work of other artists, etc.
