An afternoon long ago, I started playing with a piece of iron wire. I spent some time bending, twisting and modelling that wire and, at the end, a figure of a stylised man sit on a chair appeared.
After that afternoon time past fast and I often thought about creating again using metal wire, till one day in 2017 when suddenly I felt the urgent necessity to create, sculpting metal wire.
The aim to use a medium that by its nature is strong and hard is to transform and let it become ethereal, delicate and fragile. Most of the time I get inspired from things around me as well as by emotions. But sometimes I let objects speak for themselves and "guide" my inspiration.
Even if at the beginning of this adventure the medium chose me, then I played and used different types of metal wires: brass, copper and silver plated, various diameters, both bare and anti-tarnish.
Now, before starting a project, I choose the kind of wire, or wires, I will use based on the final result I would like to achieve. And while designing and creating a lamp, a sculpture or a jewelry, I let my inspiration flow.
"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance".
