Donna Shannon is a London-based artist. She creates modern landscapes inspired by architecture and atmospheric skies. Her work is included in private collections in the UK, Norway, United States, Canada, Italy and Portugal.
Donna draws inspiration from energising colours and character of vibrant city environments to the quiet ambiance of serene, sun-washed shores of halcyon days.
The themes and motifs of the artist's work is colour, texture, light and shadow. City landscapes explore the intrinsic dynamic of dreams and reality presented in the utopian world beyond the glass of a window and its reflections. Windows signifying a reverberating dialogue between stationary and animated; elusive images and real forms and objects.
Each piece that the artist creates attempts to draw in the viewer and evoke an emotional response based on their own narrative and interpretation. In addition, artists like Robert and Sonia Delauney, Vasily Kandinsky, Richard Diebenkorn and Sam Gilliam have often inspired the artist's work.
Donna graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Graphic Design, in the United States of America.
