Silvije Petranovic Bartch

Silvije Petranovic Bartch, (b.1959.), is a Contemporary Visual Artist working in paintings, sculptures, print making & film! He is at the same time a filmmaker, visual artist, writer, and a sculptor. Both a film director and a painter, S.P. Bartch often investigates the links between these two practices. He concentrated on film, returning to paint and back! He never limited himself to just one single material or product (film, sculpture, ready-made, installation, oil, collage ...) Silvije Petranovic was born into the family of the artist Tomislav Petranović and school teacher Štefica in Nova Gradiška, Croatia. BARTCH spent his childhood, which he described as magical , in the nearby village of Prvča. He graduated Film directing at Zagreb Film Academy. As a film director he directed several feature films ("Nobody will laugh", "The Society of Jesus", "The Brave Adventures of a Little Shoemaker"). He uses pseudonym BARTCH to identify himself as a painter.
