Susan Cavaliere

I see art as a healer of the soul. My pieces are inspired by history, legends, castles, folklore or mythology, weaving a narrative into my work for a special mood. Creating a story to share with the viewer is important to me.
My oil works are produced by the use of the flemish technique, an old school layering of thin oil work. Mixed media includes the use of waxes for extra depth of colour and textures. I use canvas or wood panels, .
Surrealism and abstraction,began for me at the Salisbury School of Art. Progressing through many stages of development to achieve my own style.
