Welcome to my artistic world! I am an artist who believes in the gradual and steady growth of my craft. The urge to create compels me to reach for brushes and pencils, meticulously selecting and blending colors. I am constantly inspired and guided by an intangible force, almost in symbiosis with the very air I breathe while painting. Figurative art captivates me, and I find immense pleasure in interpreting it. While realism often influences my work, I am not bound by its limitations. My imagination takes flight, leading me to explore realms where fantasy and creativity intertwine. Through the portrayal of human figures, predominantly female, I delve into existential themes, weaving in symbols like butterflies, children, and flowers. My art aims to unravel the profound, yet often suppressed, foundations of the human soul - the essence of Love. Join me on this artistic journey as we explore the depths of emotions and the beauty of self-expression.

Born in Italy, Maria Romano is an artist who has always been captivated by the world of art. After completing her education at High Art School in Sorrento, she embarked on a journey of self-discovery through drawing and painting. With a relentless pursuit of vibrant colors, luminous lights, and diverse materials, Maria's artistic endeavors were momentarily put on hold due to a work transfer abroad. However, her unwavering passion for art continued to thrive, filling the gaps in her free time. Upon her return to Italy in 2015, Maria once again immersed herself in the realm of art, delving deeper into the art of portraiture. Among the various techniques she had acquired, she found solace in using soft pastels, oil and acrylic colors to bring her subjects to life.
