Nigel Robinson

Like most people I was introduced to the art world at school. After leaving I found myself drawing quite extensively, usually with pencil and pen. In recent years I decided to transfer these ideas to canvas. In my early life I was greatly influenced by impressionism and post-impressionism, particularly that of Renoir and Cezzane....as you can see, this is not reflected in my work. Later in life I discovered a fondness for the more geometric, abstract and surreal artists such as Mondrian and Doesburg. My working life was embedded in engineering and the sciences, this may well explain the organic and geometric aspects of my work, and to my knowledge is not representative of nature in any form. I do not in anyway try to emulate nature, but use that wonderful human trait....that of pure imagination.
