Stewart always had an interest in painting leaving school with an A grade A level in Art. He went on to study for a degree in Interior Design from the Nottingham School of Art.
He started his career with several high profile companies including Brent Walker and Dale Keller Associates working on major international projects, including 5 star hotels and a Royal Palace for the Sultan of Brunei. After being on-site designer on the Intercontinental Hotel in Cairo he joined Fletcher McNeece Associates where his projects included casinos and Middle Eastern palaces for the Saudi Royal Family. Later he was involved as cruise ship architect in designing public areas for the world's first large capacity 2,500 passenger luxury cruise ship built in France, "˜Sovereign of the Seas' for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
Forming his own partnership with two fellow designers, BPW Associates, a number of prestigious luxury cruise ship and ferry projects followed for clients including Royal Caribbean, Crystal Cruises and Viking Line of Finland.
