"Mostly I just dive in and use experience to play with color & form then allow things to become things as the painting unfolds, working in this way the paintings often become more than anything I could have premeditated. At the heart of it I'm searching for Humaness both enigmatic & profound and a hint of the times we are in. I want to give the viewer art that's interesting to look at , something unique and original that's outside of everyday life & completely open to interpretation"

World Travelled
"This journey into Art began with a shark on a hallway wall.. drawn with a red crayon in 1973. My mother encouraged this passion for drawing by showing how art is everywhere, on curtains, cereal boxes, the trees & flowers. During childhood we moved often and I adapted to change through drawing to make friends & gain acceptance at each new school. My mother is of Spanish Moorish decent and my father French. Both have artists a plenty in their families, some well known & accomplished like Henri Toulouse Lautrec. My mother used to make the most extraordinary landscape paintings on plates from the kitchen when inspired.
Drawing/painting brings happiness, purpose and meaning to my life. When I begin drawing and painting there's a feeling of adventure & the world makes sense.
