Alexey Litvinenko

Actor, emerging director and self-taught artist born in Omsk in 1987 and currently based in Moscow. 
My body of work consists mainly of pen drawings with the use of acrylic ink and a number of experiments with collage and stained-glass. 
The choice of technique is mostly intuitive. Ink drawing allows to concentrate on content and semantic meaning at the same time possessing tremendous decorative abilities. I like combining soft and strict forms, nature and geometry. This way I can use recognisable figurative characters but at the same time stylise them according to the inner sense of rhythm. I don’t use colour as much as I could. Black ink  on white paper with splashes of colour provides just the right amount of tension. 
   The collages are a way to contemplate, to find spacial connection between archetypical imagery which constitutes surrounding  informational space. It makes collage not only a technique used in visual arts but  a form of analytical and philosophical thinking as well. 
Prevalent two dimensional forms are akin to simple flat language of contemporary comic books, animation and graphic design. Which are omnipresent in our everyday life and influenced me greatly. My drawings are a way to reinvented ever...
