Christian, is a self-taught artist born in the Philippines and raised in Los Angeles. His style honors the great masters such as Sargent, Velazquez and Dali, adoring the process of understanding beauty in portraiture and the irony of surrealism. Working with charcoal is one of his favorite mediums to render art works along with oil paints and watercolor. "The challenge and process of depicting a person or environment could be quite intimidating, a dare to yourself to carry on a subjects gestures through shapes and color values on paper or canvas. But this is what makes the work fascinating and worth the empathy and time". The satisfaction that he receives after completing works of art is sublime. His inspirations come from meeting wonderful people from places he’s resided, wanderlust expeditions throughout the states and from current events that’s shaping our society and world. He’s a true Hopeless Romantic, a species that exists far and in between the current image of man portrayed by the modern world.
