Classica Painting

I’m a self-taught figurative mixed media artist based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, since 2004. Born and raised in southern Spain to an American mother and a French/Italian father, my multicultural heritage deeply influences my work. I blend classic fine art inspiration with a contemporary design aesthetic to create large-format realistic portrait paintings on unconventional backgrounds like fabric and rugs. I love incorporating the preexisting designs into my images to create a visual metaphor for the layers and complexity of life and human nature. With my artwork, I aim to inspire, uplift, and invite the viewer to look beyond what the eyes see. My artistic journey began in 2014 when I left my full-time job in interior design to pursue painting. I am in constant exploration of new materials and ways to push the envelope in my art. Since 2018, I have been an artist in residence for the Historical Society of Fort Lauderdale and am currently at the Bailey Contemporary Arts Center until June 2025. My work has gained national and international recognition, with exhibitions in the UAE and awards like the “Artista Latina Award” at ArtPrize 2021 and the “2-D Public’s Choice Award” at ArtPrize 2022 in Grand Rapids, MI. I welcome commissioned pieces and love working with clients to create unique pieces that perfectly fit their heart, space and décor.
