For me, sculpting is an intuition-driven practice—a process of discovering meaning and form as they emerge together. My role is to stay open, to respond, and ultimately, to bring that vision into its final, tangible form.
My sculptures are not born from pre-conceived ideas but emerge through an act of intuitive exploration. I begin with the material—clay, stone, plaster—and immerse myself in the process of sculpting without a fixed destination. It is through the act of working that motion and emotion gradually take shape. There’s always a moment of revelation—often bringing a smile—when the idea suddenly becomes clear to me. From that point forward, it becomes a journey of refining and completing the vision.
Rio Skor received her first formal art education at art school, completing her diploma in 1997. She graduated as an architect in 2006 before reconnecting with sculpting and pursuing it as her primary focus.
In 2023, she refined her skills in Carrara, Italy, studying hand-carving and expanding her practice to include marble.
