I am Australian born and I am told that as a child I had an unusual connection to animals. We had a property which became home to all manna of injured wildlife. From eagles and ravens to ferrets, foxes and blue-tongue lizards. I was pssionate about horses and remember searching out beautiful creatures which had been ill-treated, devoting hours in solitude, just me and the horse taking what ever time we needed to find that mutual trust. In my heart I knew that animals would play a big part in my life. My painting career was almost an accident. My chosen career was with animals however I found myself painting fantasies on interior walls in London. It is a long story so for more please email me. I have been fascinated with texture and medium since working in a painted furniture shop which led me to apprenticeships in Italy & Guernsey and a course in Chinoiserie brush techniques at Beijing University, China. At this time my strongest influence was French Surrealism, a style which led me to question my own perception of reality. On a visit to San Francisco I found myself strongly drawn to a group of artists based in Sausalito.
