I create sculptures of whimsical animals and anthropomorphic imaginary beings. Working with clay, I rarely start with sketches. Instead, I let the form emerge naturally in my hands, allowing it to evolve, observing and shaping it as I add or remove details. Eventually, a new character takes shape on its own under my fingers. My fantastical creatures—animals, animated plants, and human-like figures—are a fluid visual metaphor. They reflect relationships, and serve as a response or reaction to social processes and personal experiences.
