Alieu Sawaneh

Alieu Sawaneh, born in Banjul, Gambia, 1997, immigrated with his gambian father and senegalaise mother into Germany in 1999.

Unusually, Alieu isn't just a young and ambitious self-thought artist, but a semi-professional soccer Player in the Regionalliga (4th division) of Germany and started working on drawings and paintings mainly as a hobby in Kindergarten, where he frequently drew his favorite characters from mangas and comic books. He still pursues a professional career as soccer player, but keeps working on his art in order to maintain balance between physical and artistic activities.

The 22-year-old is very versatile when it comes to art mediums and focused the last 7 years acquiring a wide range of skills including drawing hyperrealistic portraits on paper, painting with aquarelle, acrylic and oil paints and creating abstract art on canvas.

As an artist he loves to observe and uses his own perception of reality to create stories based on his african origin, human emotions and the beauty in flaws and imperfections.

His work has already been recognized on Instagram by celebrities and pro-athletes like Chris Brown, Kevin Prince Boateng, Ivan Rakitic and more.

He is currently based in Frankfurt, Germany.
