Loz Koleszko

Loz Koleszko is a British abstract artist currently residing in Vancouver, Canada.

Since dropping out of art college aged 17, and being otherwise entirely self-taught, Loz Koleszko turned away from the formality of the traditional art world to find inspiration elsewhere. As an amateur mountaineer and keen traveler, Koleszko instead finds influence in the lines of melting glaciers, tonality in a thousand years of erosion on a cliff face or a colour palette from the back streets of South American urban sprawl.

Working primarily with oil paint, Loz Koleszko often supplements the medium with found objects and other materials such as wax, metals, plastics, fibres, acids, razor blades and dental floss.

Non-representational art revealed itself as a natural creative pathway for an artist who chooses intuition over definition and consistently shuns convention. Abstract art is the manifestation of concept, representational art is the documentation of an idea.

Loz Koleszko’s work is held in private collections in Britain, America and Canada and has been recognized by the Federation of Canadian Artists.
