Allison Van Gruen

Part of my studies at OCA included a year abroad at the college's satellite campus in Florence, Italy.  It was here in Italy that I was able to explore and get comfortable with my expressionistic style in both oil and acrylic paints.  Since then, colour and texture figure quite prominently in my paintings.
 
After graduating from OCA, I moved out west, got married and took a break from my painting career to settle into my new home and raise a family.  I have now lived in Whistler for over 20 years with my husband and two children.
 
My days are filled with spending time with my family and friends, exploring the outdoors and looking for creative inspiration. I work from my studio in Whistler, BC. My works can be found at Art Junction Gallery, Whistler and in many private collections across Canada.
