Loretta Bonus

I was born and raised in the Denver, Colorado, area and now live in San Diego, California.
I am influenced by natural settings: mountains, hills and deserts, lakes, streams, ocean and waterways, fields and so forth. I am intrigued with the power of nature to influence my states of mind and emotions.
Photographs, artwork and other creative endeavors inspire me.

My formal art education began in high school and continued in various classes at UCSD extension, San Diego Adult Continuing Education, and Art on 30th and elsewhere in San Diego. I have worked with Kate Ashton, Shirin Nikoukari, Roberta Dyer and Brenda York at Art on 30th.

My work was included in two regional juried art shows at Ashton Gallery, San Diego, CA, during 2022 and my painting, "Luscious" was included in 2023.
"Catching my Breath" was included in a juried regional show in Costa Mesa, CA in 2023.
I received a Finalist Award in International Juried online competitions held by Teravarna Art Gallery for: "Cliff Air" and "Fragrant Air" in Eighth Landscape (2023); for "She Says Maybe" in Eighth Portrait (2023), "Chilly Creek Air" and "Flowers Everywhere" in Second Nature (2024).
I received an Honorable Mention Award in International Juried online competitions held by Teravarna Art Gallery for: "Catching my Breath" in Seventh Figurative (2023) and "Valentine's Day" in Eleventh Abstract (2024).
