Svуtlana Yusim Born on October 29, 1941, in Volgograd, Russia, where her family was evacuated during the war. Since 1945, lived in Odesa, Ukraine. Received her artistic education at the Odesa Art School named after Grekov (1958-1963) and at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture named after I.E. Repin (1965-1971) 1971—1973 — Architect at "Voenproekt," Odesa. 1973—1993 — Monumental Artist at the Odesa Art Production Combine of the Art Fund. From 1993 to 2009, she taught painting at the Odesa Art School named after Grekov. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine since 1988. Worked in the fields of easel and monumental painting, and original graphics. Awarded the Honorary Prize of the "Outstanding Ukrainian Women Artists, 98" exhibition, 1998, Kyiv; diplomas from the International Biennale "Marina," 2002, Odesa, and the International Painting Symposium, 2007, Comrat (Moldova). Svitlana Yusim's monumental works (murals and mosaics) can be found in the interiors of the Odesa Archaeological Museum, the interiors of the "Kvant" plant (Chornomorsk), the inter-school production combine (Odesa), the Krivorizhstal plant sanatorium (Kryvyi Rih), several kindergartens and sports schools in Odesa, and several bus stops in Odesa region.
