This painting started as a Representation of an oak forest in Los Osos California called the Pygmy Oak Forest. You can see it in the background. Here's a conversation I had with myself just now: What do you think of Art? I think Art is Religion. Okay, what do you think of Religion? I think it's great! Which one? Yes. What does that mean? All Religions are great. All customs are great, except the violent ones. I practice and observe all forms of Religions, even the totally crazy ones. Like which. I won't say. Give me a hint. All Religions have aspects that are a bit nuts. But they all have aspects that are glorious and unbelievably beautiful. Like art. Like art and photography and literature and music. How does visual art have anything to do with Religion. It is everything. Nature and Spirituality are our mentors and then we are inspired and make some version of Nature and Spirituality in our art. Sometimes it comes out black and ugly because that's the Nature of Reality also. Too. Exactly. Do you have a name for this Religion? It's a product of Religion and Philosophy I call Universal Syncretism. Wow. That's a lot. Thank you. Now, let's all get along and stop killing each other. Amen.
