Astrid Stoffels is a Dutch artist , she lives in Amstelveen, a city nearby Amsterdam in the Netherlands. “I am fascinated by the primal force of nature in all its beauty and violence, vulnerability and indestructibility. I convert the feelings that this evokes in me into fictional landscapes.” Astrid is fascinated by nature. The forces of nature are appropriate for her inspiration, her paintings and her vision of life. She works with oil paint on linen canvas. She uses different layers of paint to create more depth in her paintings. Astrid engages in forces, colors and forms of and in nature. The elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire often return in her works. The immense forces of nature but also the quiet beauty of nature continue to fascinate her, this yields beautiful images. She is looking for a personal, original translation of the landscape in which bringing shape, color and light together is central. There are worlds in which you as a spectator come along. On the other hand, this natural disaster also affects her enormously because of the mostly disastrous consequences for humans, animals and nature. With her authentic paintings she wants to make people aware of these natural forces around us in this hectic society. Awareness, unwind and enjoy! "The world is perishable, we are perishable, life and death is close together”. More work can be seen on:
