‘You brought me back’ Painting

‘There is a reassurance in nature, especially at its roughest, a resilience and strength that towers above any of us.' ​ Nature and its ability to effect all of our senses, is what drives the inspiration behind Nina's art. Its strength and resilience, but also its vulnerability. Her work radiates an elemental energy, which capture the essence of her experiences and emotions. ​​The connection between nature and ourselves is a powerful driving force behind her artistic expression, making each piece resonate on a deeper level. Through her work, she encourages us to explore our own relationships with nature and the emotions it evokes. Her paintings are a visual diary, capturing moments. ​ Working primarily in oil, Nina's process starts with simple intuitive sketches which are then built upon in layers of oil. Each layer telling its own story and often peering through the layer that follows. The original concept of a piece often changes significantly in the process, culminating in pieces that have depth and emotion. A space to get lost in. ​​ Originally from Cumbria, she spent many years travelling and working overseas, these different environments and life experiences have been a constant source of inspiration. Nina now lives and paints full time in rural Norfolk.
