The categories where we have understood and transformed reality may create frontiers to imagine other possible worlds. My work reflects a concern for the limits and misunderstandings that they generate at the local level (my Country) and universal level (society in general), Instead of reinforcing d...

I am a Cuban artist who started becoming passionate about photography around 2009. Using photography as a way to communicate my ideas became a fascinating concept. I am a 2011 graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro, and am currently studying at the University of Arts in Havana, Cuba. Recently, I received an invitation to display my work in a personal exhibition in the Basilical Hudson Gallery of New York in July 2017. I’m also invited for a one week scholarship in September 2017 offered by San Francisco Cara & Cabezas Gallery, because I was one of the artists of the Cuban Female Voices and Poetic project shown at that same gallery and others around San Francisco like the Mission Cultural Center for Latin Arts and the Arc Studio and Gallery, United States. I have also displayed my work in Casa Frisac in Mexico City, México. Espace Saint-Rémi in Bordeaux has also held exhibitions of my photographs in France. Also, Nelson Dominguez Gallery in Old Havana invited me to showcase my work. In addition, since a few years ago, I found a different way of complementing my creative photography. It began when the Italian Gallery “Continua” contacted me for a few photography works I would do for some important artist. For example, in December 2014 I did the photography documentation of the performance Il Terzo Paradiso from the Italian artist Migelángelo Pistoletto displayed in Habana Bay. From that moment, artist Pistoletto has been using my photography work frequently and as a result in 2016 he exhibited in the National Museum of Fine Art of Cuba showing some of my pictures. I have also worked several art pieces from the artist Daniel Buren when he came to the Habana Biennale of 2015. Equally, it was very important for me to have been the only personal photographer for the Indian artist Nikhil Chopra when he displayed his 60 uninterrupted hours performance during the Habana Biennale. I’ve kept working with Galleria Continua’s artists since 2014 and some other galleries from the rest of the world. For example, I collaborated with the artists who came to La Habana, Cuba during a oproject developed by the Bronx Museum of New York during May 2015. Also, Humberto Díaz is another artist I’ve been working with. He is a very important Cuban artist and since 2015 I’ve been taking pictures for him in order to preserve digitally his work and digitally editing his photography work.
