My monotype paintings are insinuations of landscapes and horizons from distant memories.
The compositions, which are inspired by my fascination with nature’s form and movement, have an organic feel and convey serenity, tranquility and at times, a powerful dynamism.
My painting process is an experimental approach. With the handling of the oil ink on a smooth aluminum plate a pictorial expression emerges.
Each piece explores light, contrast and texture with colors melding as the inks get carved into the canvas. Works create a space for dialogue with the viewer that tell a story which is then interpreted through the viewer’s own perspective and emotions.
Patricia received a BFA in Graphic Design and Packaging with emphasis on Movement Based Design from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena.
