Saba Hasan, a noted contemporary artist, works in the realm of abstract art straddling a multimedia practice for over 25 years. She has been awarded the National Raza Award for painting 2005, the Pollock-Krasner Grant 2022 and international fellowships from Syracuse University, Ecole D'Arts Visuels, Lausanne, the French Cultural Ministry, the George Keyt Art Foundation and the Oscar Kokoschka Academy, Austria. Saba has successfully developed her unique language across media using diverse materials like books, clay, leaves, poetry, video and sound to create works which are restrained and imbued with multiple meanings. She is currently developing very short films from retrieved footage and encapsulating her video conversations with intellectuals on the idea of truth with its philosophical and political ramifications. Saba's works were recently on display at the Alliance Francaise, the Moscow Foto Art, the Devi Art Foundation/Sarai Reader 09, the 55th Venice Biennale collateral via the Imago Mundi Foundation, Assab One Milan, the Brooklyn Art Library, Columbia University, New York Osso Radio Soundscapes, Lisbon, Hohenburg Castle, Salzburg and The Indian Art Summit, New Delhi
