Moritz Rimbaud (1976) is a Spain based visual artist. Currently my work explores the behavior of material and different patterns composition in light, using my own created tools to mold the paint. This minimalistic depictions are originated from reiterated gestural movements until reaching the desired essence, found in my personals parameters of quality. When i look at a painting, doesn’t matter who's the painter or what type of panting is, i try to get as close as i can and try to find the path left by a single brushstroke. There are no brushstroke equal to another in an entire painting. They all have different amount of paint, different combination of colors, different direction. They all have been a profound decision made by the artist. If is a known artist like Picasso, Gauguin or Van Gogh i try to imagine the situation in their studio or the moment in there life in which it was painted. In some way this practice makes me feel closer to the painter. This is the concept that i follow to make my paintings. As if they were a zoom of a huge painting.
