I saw an image of a bear skull and I was living in downtown Los Angeles at the time and I wanted to express the skull, and the energy of the bear, so it manifested in a primal graffiti style with light and raw energy emanating from the body somehow. It’s just a feeling of raw animal power

Inspired by the gestural energy of Lee Krasner and the layered narratives of Anselm Kiefer, and how their practice balances personal introspection with collective resonance. Working across disparate genres with a fluid, dynamic approach, Taiyou employs color as vibration, light and dark as metaphor, and nature as pattern to bridge the tangible and the ineffable.
