The most important thing for human, animal and plant life is water, fresh water. This is the element for everyone: having enough fresh water. Roswitha Klotz is a painter and musician who grew up in Bad Kissingen (Germany). After finishing high school she studied music at the University of Music and Drama in Munich, and was also a guest student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. After graduation she continued her studies of fine arts and participated in several workshops and exhibitions. Works with watercolor alternate with those of oil chalk and oil on paper, wood or canvas. Roswitha Klotz mainly uses brushes and spatulas for her works, but often the paint is re-treated, scratched on the canvas, scratched with different materials or modelled by etching. The resulting patterns and structures clarify the content, internalize and intensify the language of the colors. Nowadays her pictures mostly show a positive perception of the world. She shows the wonderful colours of nature or the sensitive tones of music in her mostly abstract and internalized paintings. It is her intention to help people to a positive attitude towards life, to offer help and refuge beside all the cruel pictures and reports we are confronted with in our world every day. Calmness, thoughtfulness and emotional refuge can be found in her works, which are often strongly reduced to the statement of the colour. In harmony with forms, patterns, structures or surfaces, the nature and energy of her colours become perceptible.
