I have always suspected that something fascinating is hidden behind what my senses perceive. Discovering those secrets simply became my reason for living, and achieving it was only possible if I also became a rigorous observer.

Much has happened during so many years of searching. One could talk about themes, perceptions, the real and the unreal, successes and failures, multiple encounters, philosophy, metaphysics, neuroscience, and many other things, but in the end, everything comes down to the simplest things, the everyday, the observable, what can be touched. The coordinates of the universe are there, in music, in the root of an old tree, in wrinkled skin, in everything that walks with me.

Everything flows like an infinite metamorphosis. The first amino acids still inhabit our memory and it seems that our species is linked to the first molecule. Perhaps this is the reason why everything related to humans has been the axis and my reason for being, as an artist. I feel my works are like authentic skins on which I can tell my own story and my vision of the world.

I studied at the 'Instituto Santandereado de Culture' in Bucaramanga. In the same city, I studied charcoal and pen drawing with master Martín Quintero Pacheco; Color theory and art philosophy with Master Mario Hernández Prada, with whom I built a long and intimate friendship; Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, 'La Sabana' University in Bogotá; Artistic Drawing at the National University of Colombia, and participated in workshops with Masters Mardoqueo Montaña, Alonso Neira, and Luis Ángel Rengifo; Lithography at 'Taller de Gráficas de la Habana' in Havana, Cuba, and history of civilization at 'Universidad de Norte' in Barranquilla. I have been a teacher at the School of Fine Arts at 'Universidad del Atlántico' and a workshop leader at 'Universidad del Norte' in Barranquilla and 'Universidad Industrial de Santander' in Bucaramanga. Since 1990, I have directed my art school in drawing and oil painting techniques in Barranquilla, the city where I live.

My work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in cities in Colombia such as Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Bogotá, Cali, Medellin, Bucaramanga, Girón, Valledupar, and other countries, including Puerto Rico, Venezuela, the United States, Panama, Spain, Argentina, Cuba, among others.
