Artist Midas

I am from Virginia, I grew up doing art pretty much my entire life since I can remember. I started drawing when I was very young, mostly pencils and crayons. I then began pen and ink, only doing black and white. I moved to Hawaii in 2013 and began to do acrylic painting. The colors there gave me no choice but to embark on color use in my works. I spent nearly 12 years there painting landscapes and then moved to also doing sculpture. I currently paint now mostly.

I taught myself art from failing. Failure has been my greatest teacher as I have finally become happy with my own style and procedure. I feel that art cannot be educational as far as the creative parts go. The skills have to come from doing the work and breaching your own artistic boundaries.
