Barbara Cartier

My practice is deeply entwined with personal experience, drawing on encounters with the transformative processes of motherhood and the ongoing (re)construction of feminine identity. Working with a variety of media and materials, I examine the porous boundaries between care and self-care, and the emotional and physical limits of the body. The circularity of the lines evoke a rhythmic, cyclical sensibility — one that mirrors natural processes of change and transformation.
